Responsible for developing the SAP implementation strategy across Drilling & Wells and creating customized training modules for knowledge sharing.
Lead the training efforts for the Drilling & Wells team on SAP systems, tools, and process flow.
Monitor SAP performance and develop reports, dashboards, etc.
Drive innovation in service operations to improve service quality and cost efficiency.
Lead the implementation of continuous improvement processes, business analysis, and user acceptance testing.
JOB DIMENSIONS
SAP will be the core business management system for the organization. The initial field development plan anticipates the realization of 85+ new wells over the next 5 years, along with additional appraisal wells and re-entries. New wellhead platforms will also be added to the field.
The SAP Specialist role within Drilling & Wells is to ensure proper support to all users, provide business analysis and testing, and serve as a mentor for the team. The specialist acts as a liaison between the business area, SAP support team, system vendors, etc., and serves as the focal point for SAP in the Drilling & Wells team.
ACTIVITIES
The role holder participates in the operations of Drilling & Wells by performing the following activities:
Develop SAP processes to support Drilling & Wells operations.
Create training modules and provide training to Drilling & Wells users on SAP tools.
Act as the SAP focal point within Drilling & Wells as needed.
Provide recommendations to the IT-ERP team based on feedback and business requirements from Drilling & Wells.
Monitor and report on progress related to SAP tools within Drilling & Wells. Generate reports and alert users regarding nonconformance or delayed processes.
Serve as an interface to related entities and follow up on integration activities between functional areas.
Conduct root cause analysis of issues and implement appropriate actions and business improvements.
Identify and suggest improvements in time and cost within areas of responsibility, and foster continuous learning.
Coordinate changes and updates related to roles and authorization management.
Coordinate the development of lean working methods and create reports, dashboards, etc.
Contribute to maintaining Drilling & Wells’ internal SAP knowledge by:
Consolidating and documenting the experience and know-how gained in performing duties.
Expanding knowledge of existing SAP products and new technologies related to procurement, contracts, and inventory.
Identifying skill gaps and planning training for support members to ensure SAP competence levels are maintained.
Liaising with other teams / departments coordinating with Drilling & Wells.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Core Competencies:
In-depth understanding of Drilling processes and knowledge of the impact of SAP functionalities related to Drilling.
Strong experience with SAP, particularly in data cleaning and rollouts.
Excellent interpersonal skills that foster teamwork, trust, and strong internal and external relationships.
Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively to meet demanding targets and tight deadlines; self-driven.
Strong problem-solving, planning, coordination, communication, training, analytical, and technical skills.
Qualifications and Background:
Education: Master’s degree in Technical or Finance disciplines, or equivalent.
International
Experience:
Preferred, but not essential.
Professional
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas upstream business, with at least 4 years of working knowledge of SAP.
Hands-on exposure to SAP implementations and Go-Live support.
Proven track record of leading and implementing continuous improvement processes.
Strong background in providing SAP guidance, training, and support.
