Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and creative Cake Decorator/Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a passion for baking and decorating, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our bakery team, you will play a vital role in creating memorable experiences for our customers through your artistic creations.
Responsibilities:
– Prepare, bake and decorate a diverse range of cupcakes, cakes, and pastries using our signature recipes and techniques, both for in-store offerings and customized orders. Skilled in buttercream cakes is a must.
– Craft intricate 2D and 3D figurines and decorations from fondant, gum paste, and other edible ingredients.
– Design and execute stunning cake decorations, including piping, fondant work, and sugar art, to fulfill custom orders and showcase products in our display cases.
-Develop and refine recipes for cakes, cupcakes, frostings, fillings, and other baked goods, balancing flavor, texture, and presentation to meet our bakery’s standards of excellence.
– Keep up to date with the latest trends and decorating techniques
– Maintain a pristine and organized baking environment, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation protocols
– Updating the inventory of baking ingredients and supplies on a daily basis to ensure accurate tracking and timely notification to management for replenishment orders..
-Assist in other daily functions and duties at the bakery
– Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and develop new flavor combinations and innovative pastry designs.
-Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit to effectively work within a team environment, as well as the ability to interact positively with customers to fulfill custom orders and provide exceptional service.
Requirements:
– Proven experience in baking and pastry preparation, with a focus on intricate cake decoration and figurine making.
– Proficiency in sculpting and modeling 2D and 3D edible decorations using fondant, gum paste, and other mediums.
– A keen eye for detail and creativity in cake design and presentation.
— Flexibility in scheduling, including availability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, evenings and late night for special events or seasonal demands..
– Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining quality and precision.
– Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit to work effectively within a team environment.
– Knowledge of basic math for recipe conversions and ingredient measurements
– Familiarity with various baking equipment and tools, including mixers, ovens, and decorating utensils.
