Job Purpose:
As a Cement Sales Executive, your primary mission is to expand our footprint by securing bulk supply contracts and managing key accounts. You will act as the face of our brand to institutional buyers, dealers, and project managers. By combining technical product knowledge with sharp negotiation skills, you will identify market opportunities, outpace the competition, and ensure our cement is the top choice for major regional projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Direct communication with customers to finalize sales agreements based on company policy.
- Monitor sales targets and maintain relationship with customers in order to achieve continuous and profitable business relationship.
- Monitor to coordinate with customers in order to maintain sales performance with regard to volume lifting on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Ensure correct distribution amongst the segments, area, and customers’ size that is ultimately affecting the profitability.
- To monitor on daily basis customers’ credit facility in order to avoid stoppage of supply.
- Coordinate with finance in order to understand customers’ financial situation that facilitate and smoothen business.
- Ensure that sales admin and dispatch are fully aware of customers’ requirement, delivery location, offloading time and etc.
- Resolve customers’ complaint.
- Gather market information pertaining to customers’ and competitive activities.
- Market analysis understanding through market trend knowledge (projects – price trend – customers’ behaviors – market changes).
- Manage to keep good and long-term relationship with existing customers in order to facilitate company pricing policy implementation flexible and successful.
- Keep good relationship with potential customers’ and follow up closely their activities with competitors as this could be near opportunity of business.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Economics or Science.
5-7yrs of experience in Cement industry.
Technical Skills:
1. Concrete & Cement Technical Knowledge
- Product Grade Familiarity: Strong understanding of different cement types and grades (e.g., Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) 43/53 grade, Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC), Portland Slag Cement (PSC)) and their specific applications.
- Mix Design & Testing Standards: Basic knowledge of concrete mix designs, setting times, compressive strength testing, and relevant industry quality standards (e.g., ASTM or local country standards like IS, EN).
- Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to understand and address common on-site issues (e.g., cracks, curing issues, strength variations) to provide basic technical support to clients before escalating to the technical services team.
2. Supply Chain & Logistics Management
- Inventory & Lead-Time Forecasting: Ability to forecast demand to prevent stockouts at dealer depots or project sites.
- Logistics & Freight Economics: Understanding of bulk vs. bagged transportation costs, secondary freight optimization, and handling/storage requirements to prevent spoilage (moisture control).
3. Commercial & Financial Acumen
- Credit & Receivable Management: Proficiency in assessing dealer creditworthiness, managing credit limits, and ensuring timely collections to maintain a healthy cash flow.
- Margin & Pricing Analysis: Ability to calculate net realizable value (NRV), freight deductions, volume-based discounts, and dealer incentives to maximize profitability per metric ton.
4. Sales Technology & Data Analytics
- CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM software to track leads, manage pipeline velocity, and log client interactions.
- ERP Systems: Familiarity with ERP platforms for order placement, tracking shipments, and checking real-time inventory levels.
- Market Intelligence & Excel: Proficiency in data analysis using MS Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) to analyze territory sales trends, competitor pricing matrices, and market share data.
Soft Skills:
- Building long-term trust with clients to facilitate pricing policy implementations.
- Coordinating seamlessly with Finance, Sales Admin, and Dispatch teams.
- Efficiently addressing and resolving customer complaints.
- Communicating with clients to finalize formal sales agreements within policy boundaries.
