Roustabout – Offshore Jackup Rig Jobs in Doha, Qatar at swan
A Roustabout is an entry-level offshore rig worker responsible for manual labor, deck operations, and assisting the drilling crew.
Key duties include:
Deck Operations
- Assist in loading/unloading supply vessels.
- Handle and move equipment, pipes, and drilling materials.
- Secure cargo with slings, chains, and lifting gear.
Rig Maintenance & Cleaning
- Clean and maintain the rig deck, equipment, and work spaces.
- Perform painting, chipping, and basic repairs as directed.
Drilling Support
- Assist derrick hands and roughnecks with pipe handling.
- Help in mixing and handling drilling fluids (mud) when required.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow Qatar Energy (QP), Shell, or operator-specific safety policies.
- Participate in emergency drills (fire, man overboard, etc.).
- Wear proper PPE and adhere to HSE regulations.
General Labor
- Operate basic machinery (e.g., forklifts, winches) if certified.
- Assist in waste management and environmental compliance.
Requirements
- Experience:
No prior offshore experience required (but preferred).
