Rigging Supervisor Jobs in Doha, Qatar at Paragon Shipping and Logistics
Supervises a team of lifting personnel, including riggers & crane operators in process and non-process areas of a gas plant. Familiar with EPTW system, HSE requirements, and knowledgeable about all kinds of lifting tools, tackles, cranes, and other heavy lifting equipment used in a gas process plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs, controls & coordinates with riggers & crane operators for the execution of lifting activities in the process and non-process areas of the gas process plant.
Liaises with Client CPLO (Competent Personnel for Lifting Operations) for the coordination and approvals of heavy lifts undertaken in the plant facilities.
Performs Task Risk Assessment (TRA) of all critical rigging & lifting jobs on the plant site.
Performs rigging calculations and lifting plans, ensuring that all lifting activities carried out in the plant facilities are handled effectively and safely, adhering to corporate safety standards and procedures.
Familiar with the electronic permit to work system in a gas process plant, and must pass the client PTW training in the responsibility of Performing Authority Supervisor, to apply permits related to all lifting activities like PSV removal & installation, EOT crane testing, etc.
Implements actions required for replacement/upgradation of lifting equipment and improving work methods.
Responsible for devising all lifting plans within the onshore/offshore plant operations.
Adept in exercising with all types of bundle pullers during the repair of tube & shell type heat exchangers.
Responsible for PM for all lifting equipment.
Reports all accidents, incidents, or near misses to supervisor/manager or to the QHSE Department if the supervisor/manager is not available.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Educational Requirements / Qualifications :
Minimum of higher secondary level or 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Training and Certification in “Safe Rigging & Slinging Supervisor Certification” Program.
Must be at least 30 years of age and physically fit.
Experience :
Knowledgeable and skilled in the use, maintenance & statutory testing/inspection, colour coding, etc., of lifting equipment (cranes), tools/tackles, and loose gear.
Strong administrative and supervisory skills to monitor and control the rigging personnel and lifting operations.
Training in Fire and Safety/First Aid concerning hazardous areas and materials is a definite asset.
Good knowledge of reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
Minimum of 8 years of rigging experience in lifting activities of the Oil and Gas Industry, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
