The role
The primary responsibility is to support deck operations on the client platform according to Ener Mech processes and procedures, demonstrating safety leadership and continuous development in crane, lifting, and support service activities.
Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
Responsible for all vessel lifts and platform lifts as directed by the Crane Supervisor, Deck Foreman, or client.
Carry out banking/signalman duties as required.
Attach and detach loads from the crane, ensuring proper rigging.
Select appropriate lifting arrangements, check them prior to use, and ensure lifting equipment is in good condition, certified, correctly color-coded, and capable of handling the load.
Direct crane/load movement using designated signaling methods.
Ensure loads are under control using tag lines or other assistance.
Estimate weights, center of gravity effects, and judge distances, heights, and clearances.
Lift only when load weights are known and stated.
Participate in planning and risk assessments for crane-lifting operations.
Have general engineering knowledge of lifting equipment for daily inspections.
Perform other platform duties, including operating firefighting equipment and fire standby duties when required.
Complete reports, risk assessments, logs, and documentation.
Maintain lifting appliances and loose lifting equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Conduct pre-use inspections and minor repairs of lifting equipment.
Assist with bi-annual inspection and re-certification of lifting equipment.
Support routine maintenance activities alongside crane maintenance personnel.
Requirements
Fluent in reading and writing English; fully trained and competent in offshore crane rigging duties.
Minimum of a higher secondary school certificate or equivalent.
At least 5 years of offshore experience.
Understanding of crane capabilities and limitations in offshore operations.
