Job Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous and well-organized Accountant with specialized experience in retail and costing to oversee our company’s operational finance functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, cash flow management, and ensuring financial compliance. This role is pivotal in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day financial operations, including processing accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely and accurate payments and receipts.
Monitor cash flow on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to maintain company liquidity and financial health.
Prepare detailed financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Collaborate closely with department heads to coordinate the budgeting process, aligning with company objectives and operational goals.
Analyze operational expenses to identify cost control opportunities and process improvements.
Reconcile financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies in financial statements.
Handle payroll preparation and compliance with local tax and legal requirements.
Manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely payments and accurate recordkeeping.
Support financial forecasting and planning by providing insights into operational performance and trends.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws.
Assist in audits by providing necessary financial information to internal and external auditors.
Develop and implement financial processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and maintain financial control.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in accounting, with a focus on operational finance or financial operations.
Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365) and Microsoft Excel.
Experience in cash flow management and operational budgeting.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and propose operational improvements.
Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse departments and stakeholders.
Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is advantageous but not required.
