Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and optimal functioning of all mining vehicles and heavy equipment. This includes ensuring the operational readiness of equipment from globally recognized brands such as Komatsu, Caterpillar, Volvo, Shacman, and others. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of mechanics and technicians to maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and performance while minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair Management:
Supervise and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mining trucks, loaders, excavators, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on machinery from brands like Komatsu, Caterpillar, Volvo, Shacman, and others.
Ensure that all equipment is serviced and repaired in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
Team Leadership:
Lead, train, and mentor a team of mechanics and technicians to enhance their technical skills and ensure high productivity.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
Inventory and Spare Parts Management:
Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and tools required for repairs.
Collaborate with the purchasing team to source quality parts and maintain stock levels.
Ensure proper documentation of inventory usage and stock replenishment.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular safety checks and audits on equipment to prevent accidents.
Promote a safety-first culture among the maintenance team.
Operational Support:
Collaborate with operations, logistics, and procurement teams to align maintenance schedules with production needs.
Provide technical support and advice to the operations team to enhance equipment efficiency and lifespan.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including service logs, repair histories, and downtime reports.
Prepare and submit monthly maintenance performance reports to the Maintenance Manager or Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience (7+ years) in maintaining and repairing mining trucks and heavy equipment, with specific knowledge of Komatsu, Caterpillar, Volvo, and Shacman machinery.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and engine diagnostics.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for heavy equipment.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a demanding mining environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a mining or construction environment.
Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Certification or training from manufacturers such as Komatsu, Caterpillar, or Volvo.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: AED18,000.00 – AED20,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
Dubai: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)
