Job Role:
HCT is looking for a Research Scientist – Robotics and Autonomous Systems to provide scientific and technical leadership within the RAS Research Centre.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact robotics research and development projects
- Provide expert guidance in robotic system design, software development, integration, testing and validation
- Develop laboratory and field-based robotic prototypes and pilot demonstrations
- Prepare competitive research proposals and secure external funding
- Publish research in leading peer-reviewed journals and conferences
- Generate patents, intellectual property and innovative robotics technologies
- Build collaborations with industry, government and academic institutions
- Support technology transfer, commercialization and industrial engagement
- Coordinate multidisciplinary research teams and project deliverables
- Mentor Research Associates, postgraduate researchers and students
- Contribute to the Centre’s long-term research strategy and technology roadmap
Qualifications:
- PhD in Robotics or a related engineering or computer science discipline
- Minimum two years of postdoctoral or equivalent industrial research experience
- Strong publication record and experience in externally funded research projects
