A leading organization in the utilities sector is seeking a Reporting Officer to oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide financial insights for management decision-making. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and well-versed in IFRS and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and consolidate periodic financial statements with variance analysis across departments.
Submit accurate and timely monthly FPA and quarterly reports to stakeholders.
Develop and analyse monthly income and expenditure forecasts, highlighting variances from budget.
Prepare quarterly reports for government entities.
Conduct trend and variance analysis on revenues, expenses, and capital expenditures.
Reconcile financial data and ensure consistency with internal systems and external reports.
Generate departmental profitability and operational efficiency reports to support management decisions.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors, ensuring audit preparedness and compliance.
Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts, identifying potential liquidity issues and proposing solutions.
Stay current on IFRS and financial regulations to ensure compliance and improve reporting practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Professional Finance Qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA etc.) is preferred
3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
Proficiency in English
Deep knowledge of accounting procedures, protocols, and guidelines
Strong communication and inter-personal skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skill
