Position Overview
The Department of Mechanical Engineering (MCE) in the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a regular or visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate or full professor level starting in Fall Semester 2027. The regular position will require establishing a high‑level, active research program supported by internal and external funding. The visiting faculty positions are primarily focused on teaching and are one‑year renewable contracts.
Qualifications
The applicant must have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and demonstrate a significant teaching portfolio. Candidates should provide evidence of excellence in teaching and research, and experience in the American model of higher education is highly desirable. Candidates should classify their research area in one of the following mechanical engineering fields:
- thermo‑fluids
- design, materials and manufacturing
- dynamics and control
Applicants should upload a cover letter and a detailed curriculum vitae including a teaching statement, a research statement, a list of courses that can be taught or were taught, and the names of at least three references who would be willing to write letters of recommendation.
