Job Description

The position is for a Registered Nurse in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at NMC Specialty Hospital, Abu Dhabi.

Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support.
Assess and identify patients’ needs and implement and monitor the medical plan and treatment, working with physicians and other health care specialists.
Perform systematic patient assessment, re‑assessment, and collect pertinent patient data.
Analyze assessment information and data.
Determine nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
Define predicted and expected outcomes of care.
Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, collaborating with patients and their bystanders.
Record vital signs, recognize, address, and, when necessary, raise abnormal findings.
Maintain and update technical and clinical nursing skills.
Employ strategies to promote patient health and a safe environment.
Understand diagnostic tests and laboratory examinations.
Perform essential life support (Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, etc.).
Prepare patients for examinations and treatment.
Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects and reactions.
Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor for reactions.
Provide wound care management.
Assist in invasive or non‑invasive medical procedures as needed.
Facilitate safe patient admission, transfer, and discharge.

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications

Hold an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse with the relevant regulatory health authority.
Manage professional re‑licensure.
Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
Be willing to work across departments when necessary.
Communicate clearly and effectively in spoken and written English.

Desirable Qualifications

Evidenced ability to work as part of an inter‑professional team.
Organizational and administrative skills for using the electronic medical record platform.
Communicate effectively in Arabic.
