JOB TITLE:
Refrigeration Technician
JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. The role ensures all refrigeration equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards, technical specifications, and HSE requirements. The technician must be experienced in performing pressure testing, leakage testing, refrigerant charging, and system commissioning.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, assemble, and commission commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and components.
- Perform pressure testing to verify system integrity before commissioning.
- Conduct leakage tests using soap solution or other approved methods to ensure systems are leak-free.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration system faults, including electrical and mechanical issues.
- Repair or replace compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, piping, controls, and other refrigeration components.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration equipment.
- Monitor system operating parameters such as suction/discharge pressures, superheat, subcooling, and temperature performance.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality procedures, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Complete service reports, maintenance records, commissioning checklists, and testing documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain tools, testing equipment, and work areas in good condition.
- Report technical issues, material shortages, and completed work to the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Refrigeration Technician in manufacturing, HVAC, or industrial refrigeration.
- Experience working with commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of refrigerants, refrigeration cycles, piping installation, brazing, and commissioning.
- UAE experience is preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and controls.
- Hands-on experience in pressure testing, leakage testing, refrigerant charging, and commissioning.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical refrigeration faults.
- Familiarity with refrigeration testing instruments, gauges, vacuum pumps, manifold sets, leak detectors, and multimeters.
- Good understanding of refrigeration safety practices and HSE requirements.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
