Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Truck Driver with a valid License No. 8 to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods over long distances, ensuring the timely delivery of materials, and maintaining the condition of the vehicle. This position requires adherence to all safety regulations and driving standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate heavy trucks (License No. 8) to transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition.
Secure cargo properly to prevent damage or loss during transit.
Comply with all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies.
Maintain accurate logs of hours driven, vehicle condition, and other relevant data as per regulatory requirements.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, managers, and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues during transport.
Assist in loading and unloading cargo as needed.
Ensure the truck is clean and maintained, reporting any mechanical issues to the maintenance team promptly.
Monitor traffic conditions, weather, and road conditions to adjust routes and ensure timely deliveries.
Follow all safety protocols, including wearing proper PPE and using safety equipment.
Participate in driver training and safety programs as required.
Required Qualifications
Valid Heavy Truck Driver’s License No. 8.
Proven experience as a heavy truck driver with a clean driving record.
Knowledge of traffic laws, road safety, and transportation regulations.
Ability to handle long hours and extended driving shifts.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Good communication skills and ability to interact with team members and clients.
Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance.
Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy loads when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with GPS and route planning software.
Experience in handling hazardous materials (if applicable to the job).
Familiarity with the local roads and regions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for long periods and operate heavy machinery.
