Job Summary:
The Child Psychologist will provide psychological assessment, therapy, and interventions for children in need of early intervention services. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Arabic and English to effectively communicate with diverse families and children in the Abu Dhabi community. The role will require working closely with other professionals (e.g., Applied Behavior Therapist, Special Educator, speech therapists, occupational therapists) in a multidisciplinary setting to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support the emotional, cognitive, and social development of children.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychological assessments for children with developmental, emotional, or behavioral concerns.
Provide individual and group therapy sessions for children based on evidence-based practices.
Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with other professionals (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educators).
Offer early intervention support to children displaying developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, or other conditions affecting social, emotional, or cognitive development.
Monitor and evaluate progress of children and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Provide support and counseling for parents to help them better understand their child’s psychological needs and behaviors.
Work closely with schools and community organizations to provide ongoing support and promote inclusion.
Prepare and maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client progress, sessions, and assessments.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines as set by the Department of Community Development and other relevant governing bodies.
Participate in regular team meetings, professional development, and workshops to stay current with the latest research and best practices in child psychology.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Psychology, with a focus on child or developmental psychology.
Certificate of UAE Equivalency from Ministry of Education as an Psychologist .
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children in a clinical or educational setting, with a focus on early intervention.
Fluency in Arabic and English (both written and spoken).
Familiarity with the local culture and the ability to communicate effectively with Arabic-speaking families.
Strong understanding of childhood development and early intervention strategies.
Experience in using psychological assessment tools for children.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
