To lead analysis to support work related to the Research, Talent and Innovation programs, strategic initiatives, and opportunities in each of the areas in support of implementation of QRDI
2030.
Key Result Areas:
Provide technical input on Research and Innovation programs to support the various beneficiaries:
Government, Local enterprises, and Knowledge and academic institutions.
Conduct expert engagement and interviews to support program design and development.
Support the development and implementation of key strategic RDI programs and initiatives as detailed in QRDI
2030.
Support stakeholder engagement to develop key insights, challenges, and requirements for the development and execution of QRDIC programs and initiatives.
Lead analysis and mapping of existing programs for relevant area (Research, Talent or Innovation), clarifying which programs currently exist, what is missing and opportunities for QRDIC.
Lead benchmarking efforts, conduct analysis into which programs and initiatives regionally and globally could be applicable to Qatar.
Prepare documents describing program requirements for any new programs, prepare materials to seek feedback from QRDIC management team and other stakeholders.
Conduct all tasks to support the readiness and launch of new programs, and support any events.
Support with the development of guidance documents, ensuring they are clear and up to date.
Ensure management of all information related to programs targeting relevant beneficiaries, complete archiving of all documents in a timely manner, ensure that information is continuously updated and dissemination to other team members is completed as required.
Provide technical analysis to manager and director of RDI programs as needed, utilizing external resources (experts, advisers, partners, reports) as needed.
Support development of major partnerships related to RDI especially within each of the priority areas.
Participate in relevant forums such as advisory groups to support mobilization of stakeholders within specific areas.
Be primary focal point for certain agreements and programs as determined by RDI program director, providing support and advice to partners as needed.
Issue contracts or letters of engagement to successful applicants and manage any negotiations related to the project or initiatives, support manager to ensure compliance with any contractual terms and conditions developed by QRDIC are enforced.
Provide input on relevant international and local partnerships to support achievement of sectoral strategies and plans.
Enable the collaboration in the sector & synergies by supporting key advisers as needed.
Monitor and analyze external developments that are of strategic relevance to RDI in priority areas relevant to RDI program.
Conduct analysis to identify areas where RDI investments can be made.
Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and 8-10 years of relevant full-time work experience. Master’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated ability to be innovative, take the initiative and achieve objectives on time and on target.
Knowledge of RDI including creation of IP, product development and commercialization in the private sector.
Outstanding analytical skills to perform analyses on RDI ecosystem and any of its components.
Ability to facilitate discussion and have solid interpersonal skills.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely;
Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
