We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quarry Manager to oversee day-to-day quarry operations and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production, personnel, equipment, costs, and compliance while coordinating closely with Sales, Commercial, and Mining Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily quarry operations and ensure production targets are achieved safely and on schedule.
- Balance production output with sales requirements and customer demand.
- Adjust production plans and processes based on material requirements and operational priorities.
- Coordinate closely with Sales and Commercial teams to align production with business requirements.
- Set, monitor, and achieve key production and operational performance targets.
- Prepare and submit regular production reports, operational statistics, and performance updates to management.
- Manage quarry budgets, operating costs, and resource utilization effectively.
- Maintain accurate operational records, documentation, and administrative paperwork.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures across the quarry site.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety reviews to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Monitor extraction, crushing, screening, and processing activities to ensure operational and quality standards are maintained.
- Inspect materials produced and ensure they meet required quality specifications.
- Identify and resolve technical, operational, and staffing challenges in coordination with site teams.
- Monitor equipment, machinery, spare parts, and production material requirements and arrange timely procurement.
- Ensure all quarry vehicles, machinery, and equipment are properly maintained and operational.
- Manage and motivate quarry staff, ensuring effective workforce planning and performance.
- Coordinate with Mining Engineers and technical teams to optimize resource extraction and maximize production efficiency.
- Ensure all quarry activities comply with applicable legal, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce operational costs, and optimize quarry resources.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in quarry operations, mining, or production management.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quarrying, extraction, crushing, screening, and material processing operations.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within industrial/quarry operations.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Ability to analyze production data, monitor KPIs, and manage operational budgets.
- Technical knowledge of quarry machinery, equipment, and materials management.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Sales, Commercial, Engineering, and site teams.
