Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed on‑site measurements and quantity take‑offs for wastewater infrastructure, civil works, utility networks, and associated structures.
  • Validate contractor monthly progress claims and support the preparation of interim payment certificates.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to confirm that reported quantities match completed works on the ground.
  • Review measured works for wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, deep utility networks, earthworks and concrete installations.
  • Evaluate variations, site instructions, change orders, and quantity adjustments against contract requirements.
  • Support commercial claim reviews by analyzing site records, daily reports, RFIs, correspondence, drawings, and progress documentation.
  • Maintain accurate measurement books, quantity tracking sheets, payment records, material delivery logs, and auditable commercial files.
  • Reconcile discrepancies between design drawings, as‑built conditions, installed quantities, and contractor submissions.
  • Coordinate closely with Resident Engineers, construction teams, planners, contract administrators, and contractor representatives.
  • Assist in resolving quantity disputes through clear documentation, factual measurement, and contract‑based assessment.
  • Apply recognized methods of measurement such as CESMM4, POMI, or other project‑approved measurement standards.
  • Support cost control, budget monitoring, payment accuracy, and commercial reporting for site leadership.

Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of direct construction experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Proven experience on wastewater networks, treatment facilities, pumping stations, wet infrastructure utilities, or similar civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of site measurement, quantity take‑off, payment certification, variations, change orders, and commercial administration.
  • Practical knowledge of civil engineering standard methods of measurement, including CESMM4, POMI, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC forms of contract and infrastructure contract administration practices.
  • Professional accreditation such as MRICS, AIQS, or equivalent is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and commercial management or quantity tracking software.
  • Ability to review drawings, site records, RFIs, material logs, progress data, and contractor payment submissions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Confident in negotiating and resolving quantity‑related matters with contractors on site.
  • Analytical, ethical, detail‑focused, and capable of working in a fast‑moving live infrastructure environment.
