Quantity Surveyor ( concrete restoration) Jobs in Dubai at PFC Group
A Quantity Surveyor (QS) – Concrete Restoration is responsible for managing the costs, contracts, and commercial aspects of concrete repair and restoration projects to ensure they are completed within budget while meeting contractual requirements.
Typical responsibilities
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for concrete restoration works.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Performing quantity take-offs for repair items, including:
- Concrete removal
- Reinforcement treatment/replacement
- Repair mortars
- Epoxy injection
- Crack repair
- Protective coatings
- Waterproofing
- Structural strengthening (FRP, steel plates, etc.)
- Preparing and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
- Preparing interim payment applications and certifying subcontractor invoices.
- Measuring completed work and preparing monthly valuations.
- Managing variations, change orders, and claims.
- Preparing cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts.
- Monitoring project costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Coordinating with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and clients on commercial matters.
- Maintaining records of quantities, variations, correspondence, and contract documentation.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles and contract administration.
- Ability to prepare accurate quantity take-offs from drawings.
- Familiarity with concrete restoration methods and materials.
- Knowledge of standard forms of contract such as FIDIC.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Typical qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–10+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in concrete restoration, structural rehabilitation, or civil construction.
- Membership or progress toward professional bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is often an advantage.
- Familiarity with construction estimating, procurement, and cost control processes.
