Summary
This role is responsible for the quantity surveying functions across development
projects, ensuring alignment with budget, timelines, and company policies. The
Quantity Surveyor assist in cost planning, review external cost consultants, and
provide strategic insights to senior leadership.
The Role:
Check, review, and provide advice on all matters related to Procurement and Commercial Management concerning pre and post contract administration.
Support the arrangement of meetings with Consultants, Project Directors/Managers, and Development Directors/Managers as needed to carry out the quantity surveying function within the Commercial Department.
Assist in ensuring procurement activities are aligned with the overall Development program.
Prepare Requests for Proposals, gather relevant information from internal stakeholders, manage the procurement process, and review tender submissions to recommend and award contracts.
Assist in the preparation of cost plans at all stages of the development cycle, if handled internally.
Review and critique externally prepared cost plans at all stages of the development cycle, challenging external cost consultants as necessary.
Monitor project budgets, commitments, and change management processes across various projects.
Support, coordinate, and perform all Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management functions conducted by or on behalf of the Commercial Department, ensuring activities are aligned with company policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager and Senior Director – Commercial.
Regularly update the Line Manager and Senior Director – Commercial on ongoing activities, developments, and issues, seeking advice or guidance on matters affecting the project.
Review and plan actions for exceptional issues within areas of responsibility.
Proactively collaborate with the Line Manager and Senior Director – Commercial, presenting the results of assigned studies and addressing matters that may impact project performance.
Work within company policies, standard operating procedures, and objectives, gaining commitment to implement agreed strategies, systems, controls, and programs to support these objectives.
Ensure adherence to project budgets and report any concerns regarding budget deviations.
Ensure that contracts and consultancy agreements are administered according to standard contract conditions and consultancy agreements.
Competencies:
Minimum Required Education : Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent is a plus
Average Years of Experience: 1-3 Years of Experience in Quantity Surveying in Property Development, Consultancy or Contracting environment
Cost Estimation and Cost Control Management, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Tendering and Procurement, Value Engineering, Risk Management, Legal and Regulatory
