Role
Summary:
As a QA / HSE Engineer, you will support the development, implementation, and operation of quality and HSE programs and procedures. This role involves translating customer specifications and industry standards into product/process criteria and creating control plans to meet those requirements. You will address daily production quality issues at manufacturing plants, customer sites, and supplier facilities, ensuring compliance with HSE regulatory requirements, implementing policies, managing risks, and assessing impact aspects.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Coordinate with production to plan and execute inbound and production checks.
Manage relations with customers or third-party inspectors.
Participate in external supplier quality testing and audits.
Engage in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) events.
Monitor product KPIs and implement effective root cause corrective actions to address gaps.
Manage customer witness inspections.
Maintain and analyze data to inform management and stakeholders about process or product quality issues.
Create awareness among leadership regarding opportunities discovered or developed and how to realize them.
Collaborate with other departments to clarify and resolve technical issues related to QC activities.
Provide all required documents as per QAP, coordinating with internal departments and addressing documentation queries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety:
Lead safety, health, and environmental programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, and Flowserve standards, including workers’ compensation, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, internal audits, permitting, compliance, waste minimization, spill control, emergency planning, and regulatory reporting.
Represent the company with regulatory agencies and develop necessary reports.
Provide leadership for site safety training, employee development, and preparedness, including safety awareness programs, training, and safety committee development.
Coordinate Emergency Response initiatives, ensuring all personnel are trained for emergencies.
Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, including evacuation, environmental threat response, and business continuity.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Background in QA/QC and HSE departments.
Understanding of product and process flow.
Strong organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, or 5 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, API-Q1, 6D, and IEC 80079-34 standards.
ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 Lead Auditor certification.
Passed visual tests for near vision acuity (Jaeger 1 or greater), color vision, and shade discrimination.
