Position: QNB3794 – Manager Capital Market and Investment Operations (Qatarization)

Job Purpose Summary

This position’s primary responsibility is to ensure all Bonds/Securities/IRS, Options, and transactions are correctly entered in the system – verified with Reuters/Email confirmations. The payment instructions are accurately entered per SSI and Reuters confirmations – and the outward treasury payments are made on time – and the inward interbank vostro payments from financial institutions are processed in their respective vostro accounts.

Interest accruals and amortization of premium/discounts are accurately recorded. The role also monitors transactions from a risk perspective to ensure no processing lapses, and supervises the workflow to guarantee all transactions completed by Front International Branches Office are accurately processed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities By Dimensions

  • Shareholder & Financial:
  • Participate in managing roughly USD/QAR investment portfolio of the bank.
  • Ensure accurate recording of derivative product profit and loss account.
  • Maintain awareness of key performance metrics related to bonds/securities. Interest incomes and dividends are received timely.
  • Implement KPIs and best practices for Manager, Capital Market and Investment Operations.
  • Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
  • Customer (Internal & External):
  • Communicate with other departments such as Treasury, Financial Control, and International Branches to complete inter‑related jobs properly.
  • Respond to customers and counter parties’ international branches queries efficiently.
  • Assist customers on all queries about the bank’s products and seek solutions to their requests.
  • Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turnaround time.
  • Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the group’s objectives.
  • Provide timely, accurate data to external/internal auditors, compliance, financial control and risk when required.
  • Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
  • Adhere to bank policy and international regulator rules handling all capital market and derivative products.
  • Ensure all capital market transactions are properly booked in the system.
  • Ensure all FI transactions and interbank vostro payments are processed and authorized.
  • Custody accounts are periodically monitored and compared with the books to ensure the bank’s exposure is in line with policy.
  • Interest receipt/payments are accurately and professionally monitored and accounting entries are correctly recorded.
  • Market price is timely updated in the system for fair‑value exposure of the bank as per central bank policy.
  • Respond to financial control queries regarding variances, P/L and accruals.
  • Handle external and internal auditors to their satisfaction.
  • Ensure all vostro accounts of financial institutions are updated in the EPH payment system.
  • Ensure physical verification of deals with custodian and bank’s GL.
  • Ensure periodic reporting to the management, central bank and international branches per policy.
  • Supervise staff: coordinate section staff and work with other sections as section head.
  • Respond to customer, supervisor, and bank concerns related to capital market and FI products.
  • Follow treasury operations procedures by product and QCB and international regulator rules circulars.
  • Follow officers in discharging daily assignments as per bank policies and procedures.
  • Provide practical on‑job training to junior staff and rotate assignments periodically so the workflow is not disrupted during pressure or emergency periods.
  • Resolve day‑to‑day issues professionally and bring any unresolved problems to manager for immediate action, suggesting solutions.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, university graduate/preferred, with a major in marketing, banking, finance, accounting, economics, business administration or information technology (related field of study).
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank, operations, or related banking operations experience.
