Job Purpose
To lead and assure the effective implementation of Divetech’s Integrated Management System (IMS) across high-risk rope access and commercial diving operations, ensuring full compliance with IRATA International and IMCA standards, as well as applicable maritime and oil & gas regulatory requirements.
The role is responsible for driving a robust compliance and assurance framework that verifies critical risk controls are in place and functioning effectively across both marine and industrial environments. This includes oversight of Safe Management System (SMS) requirements, contractor and third-party risk management, and alignment with client and statutory obligations.
In addition, the role ensures the integration of quality, health, safety, environmental, and business continuity requirements into operational delivery, supporting safe, efficient, and reliable execution of diving and rope access activities while protecting personnel, assets, and reputation.

Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and assurance of the Integrated Management System (IMS) across diving and rope access operations, ensuring compliance with IRATA International and IMCA standards, as well as applicable maritime, oil & gas, and statutory requirements.
- Establish and drive HSEQ objectives, plans, and performance monitoring, with a focus on critical risk control verification, incident prevention, and operational assurance.
- Lead audit and inspection programs across marine units and worksites, ensuring findings translate into effective corrective actions and sustained compliance.
- Oversee contractor and third-party risk management, ensuring alignment with company standards, client expectations, and high-risk activity controls.
- Ensure robust incident reporting, investigation, and learning processes, with a focus on identifying root causes and preventing recurrence.
- Maintain compliance with applicable legislation, industry codes, and client requirements, including support for external audits and certifications.
- Support emergency preparedness, crisis management, and business continuity arrangements, including testing and validation of response capability.
People Management Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and coach the HSEQ team to deliver effective operational support and assurance across all activities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement within the team and wider organisation.
- Ensure clear communication, competence development, and alignment of HSEQ priorities across operations.
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic HSEQ leadership to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of diving and rope access operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in risk management, assurance processes, and operational performance aligned with business and client expectations.
- Ensure risks are identified and managed to ALARP, with a strong focus on high-consequence (SIF) hazards.
- Support the integration of quality, safety, and operational requirements into business planning and execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years experience in a similar role
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent recognised HSE qualification).
- ISO Lead Auditor certification (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001; ISO 22301/31000 desirable).
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience applying IRATA International and IMCA standards within operational environments.
- Strong understanding of international HSE regulations, maritime requirements, and oil & gas industry practices.
- Formal training or experience in risk management, incident investigation, and audit/assurance processes
Desirable:
- Marine or offshore HSE experience within diving, rope access, or similar high-risk operations.
- Professional membership (e.g., IOSH) or equivalent.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience in HSEQ roles within high-risk operational environments, preferably offshore, marine, diving, or rope access.
- Proven track record in implementing and assuring HSEQ management systems with a strong focus on operational risk control and compliance.
- Practical experience applying IRATA International and IMCA standards within live operations.
- Experience managing contractor and third-party risk in client-driven environments, particularly within oil & gas or industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated capability in audits, inspections, incident investigation, and performance monitoring to drive continuous improvement.
- Experience supporting emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity in operational settings.
