Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QC Welding Inspector to oversee welding inspection activities and ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. The ideal candidate must possess a valid CSWIP certification and extensive experience in welding quality control within industrial, oil & gas, or construction projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform inspection of welding activities at various stages of fabrication and installation.
- Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material traceability.
- Conduct visual inspections before, during, and after welding operations.
- Ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR, and applicable welding codes.
- Review welding consumables, fit-up, joint preparation, and preheat requirements.
- Coordinate and witness non-destructive testing (NDT) activities.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, weld maps, and quality records.
- Identify welding defects and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor repair and rework activities to ensure compliance.
- Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and project teams.
- Ensure adherence to project quality plans, safety standards, and client specifications.
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid CSWIP Welding Inspector Certification is mandatory.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in welding inspection.
- Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, fabrication, or construction projects preferred.
- Strong knowledge of international welding standards such as ASME, AWS, and API.
- Familiarity with NDT methods and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
