Designation: QC INSPECTOR (Welding/Coating/Pipeline) – Offshore
Experience:
Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Downstream Industry with an international consultancy company, Third Party inspection/certification Company, EPIC contractor or end user in major projects implementation is essential. Have experience & Technical Knowledge in field joint coating (FJC).
Qualification:
Minimum high technical school or equivalent welding/NDT certification from a recognized organization such as AWS, TWI, API, ASME, ASNT, etc. TWI CSWIP 3.2.2 in welding is a must.
ASNT –TC-1A level II or PCN level II at least in RT & UT as per CORP-QAL-STD-008 requirements:
ANSI/ASNT CP-106:2008 (ISO 9712:2005, Modified):
Nondestructive Testing
– Qualification and Certification of personnel.
BS EN473: 2008:
Non-destructive testing — Qualification and certification of NDT personnel — General principles.
ASNT Central Certification Program (ACCP).
A valid coating certification to
NACE Level II
or
BGAS-CSWIP Grade I
or equivalent is preferable.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that the quality requirements of the fabrication, construction and installation activities, as detailed in COMPANY’S main contractor approved QC procedure and plans, are implemented in accordance with COMPANY’S approved project documents.
Ensure that contractor, subcontractors and Vendors have the required competent resources, implement internationally acceptable practices and delivery of a product in compliance with COMPANY’S Corporate and Project Quality requirements.
Monitor all site and fabrication yard welding activities and ensure that all welding joints were welded as per COMPANY’S approved WPS’s.
Attend all PQR’s mechanical testing to ensure complete implementation of COMPANY’S corporate standard requirements.
Witness all contractors’ welders qualification tests and evaluate their visual and NDT results.
Witness all site or fabrication yard NDT daily activities, carry out interpretation for test results, and evaluate the findings.
Monitor the stage (in-process) inspection of offshore steel structure fabrications, and topside facilities at contractor fabrication premises and verify the product conformity to COMPANY’S corporate standard, project specs, and international codes/standards.
Report daily to QA/QC Engineer and advise him on the COMPANY’S main contractor compliance to contract procedures and standards and any matters affecting quality.
Manage all preparatory and coating work carried out at the contractor’s or subcontractor’s premises which shall be subject to planned inspection.
Carry out systematic inspection at each stage of surface preparation, painting/wrapping and repair works.
Verify the implementation of the proposed inspection system for all preparatory, painting and wrapping work via a series of Hold Points in the work schedule, from which the contractor shall not proceed until he is given formal clearance by the COMPANY’S Engineer.
Identify all defective or non-conforming work at each stage shall be rectified to the required company’s standard.
Witness all contractors’ painters and blasters qualifications carried out by paint manufacturer and evaluate their associated testing results.
