QC Engineer Jobs in Ajman at CEMCON MECHANICAL ENGINEERING LLC
We are looking for an experienced Quality Control (QC) Engineer to oversee inspection, quality assurance, and compliance across our structural steel fabrication, machine shop, and piping spool projects. You will ensure all fabricated components meet design specifications, ISO standards, AWS/ASME codes, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Inspections: Conduct dimensional, visual, fit-up, and final fabrication inspections for structural steel, piping spools, and heavy mechanical components.
- Welding Oversight: Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ). Monitor active welding parameters and weld quality on the shop floor.
- NDT Coordination: Supervise and coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)—including RT, UT, MPI, and LPT—with internal teams and third-party inspection agencies.
- Documentation & ITPs: Prepare, update, and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Maintain quality control logs, Daily Inspection Reports (DIR), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and compile Final Material Test Certificates (MTC) and Manufacturing Data Report (MDR) dossiers.
- Surface Preparation & Coating: Inspect surface preparation (grit/shot blasting) and measure paint/coating Dry Film Thickness (DFT) per project specifications.
- Client & Third-Party Audits: Coordinate and liaise with client QA/QC representatives and third-party inspectors (TPI) for witness and hold-point inspections.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on QA/QC experience in a structural steel fabrication yard or industrial mechanical workshop in the UAE.
- Certifications: CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI certified welding inspector preferred; NDT Level II (VT, PT, MT, UT) certification is a strong advantage.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading engineering shop drawings, isometric piping drawings, and structural bill of materials (BOM). Solid knowledge of ASME (Sec IX, B31.3), AWS D1.1, and EN/ISO standards.
- Software: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) for reporting and tracking inspection logs.
