Job Summary
The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems across fabrication, erection, and construction activities. The role ensures all works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, client requirements, international standards, and Saudi regulations while maintaining the highest quality standards throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and project quality requirements.
- Review project specifications, contract documents, drawings, and standards.
- Prepare and update Quality Plans, Inspection Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures.
- Conduct internal quality audits and inspections.
- Monitor implementation of approved quality procedures on site and in fabrication facilities.
- Ensure all quality records are maintained and properly documented.
Quality Control
- Perform inspections of fabrication, erection, welding, painting, and installation activities.
- Verify materials received on site through Material Receiving Inspection Reports (MRIR).
- Ensure all materials comply with approved material submittals and project specifications.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, and third-party agencies.
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and standards.
- Witness and verify testing activities as per approved ITPs.
Welding & Fabrication Inspection
- Inspect structural steel fabrication works.
- Verify fit-up, dimensional accuracy, welding preparation, and assembly.
- Ensure welding activities comply with approved WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications.
- Monitor welding consumables and storage conditions.
- Review NDT reports and coordinate required testing.
- Conduct visual inspections before, during, and after welding activities.
Structural Steel & Erection Inspection
- Inspect structural steel erection activities.
- Verify bolt tightening, alignment, plumbness, and structural connections.
- Monitor installation of steel structures, staircases, handrails, ladders, canopies, and miscellaneous steel works.
- Ensure compliance with approved erection procedures and project specifications.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain:
- Inspection Requests (IR)
- Material Inspection Requests (MIR)
- Quality Reports
- NCR Logs
- Site Observation Reports
- Method Statements
- Inspection Test Plans (ITP)
- Quality Checklists
- Daily and Weekly Quality Reports
- Maintain complete quality records for project handover.
NCR & Corrective Actions
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-compliant works.
- Investigate quality issues and identify root causes.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Follow up and close NCRs within the required timeline.
- Coordinate with project teams to prevent recurring quality issues.
Coordination & Client Interface
- Coordinate with:

- Attend quality meetings with clients and consultants.
- Support project teams during audits and inspections.
HSE Compliance
- Ensure quality inspections are carried out in accordance with project HSE requirements.
- Promote safe work practices during inspection activities.
- Participate in safety and quality improvement initiatives.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 4–8 years of QA/QC experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC.
- Experience in Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection Projects is mandatory.
- Experience in Industrial, Commercial, Infrastructure, or Oil & Gas projects preferred.

- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – Preferred
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certification
- NDT Level II Certification (VT, PT, MT preferred)

Preferred Candidate Profile

✔ Knowledge of AWS, AISC, ASTM, and ISO standards
✔ Immediate joiners preferred
✔ Transferable Iqama (for candidates currently in Saudi Arabia) preferred.
