Quality Assurance Management:
Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection procedures, and test plans specific to tank fabrication.
Review design drawings and project specifications to ensure all quality requirements are met.
Monitor and assess production processes to maintain quality standards at each fabrication stage.
Inspection and Testing:
Conduct material inspections, including weld and component inspections, in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., API 650, ASME Section VIII).
Oversee non-destructive testing (NDT) processes such as ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, and liquid penetrant testing.
Perform and document dimensional checks and visual inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain thorough and accurate records of inspections, tests, and certifications as required by regulatory and project specifications.
Prepare quality reports and documentation for client review and regulatory compliance.
Track and report on key quality metrics, including non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective action reports (CARs).
Compliance and Code Adherence:
Ensure all fabrication processes meet safety and quality standards per relevant codes and client requirements.
Coordinate with third-party inspectors and regulatory agencies for certification and validation as needed.
Stay current with industry codes, regulations, and best practices for tank fabrication and testing.
Continuous Improvement:
Analyze trends from quality data to identify areas for improvement in the tank fabrication process.
Work with the production and engineering teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Support initiatives to optimize fabrication methods and improve overall process efficiency.
Collaboration and Communication:
Act as the liaison between project management, engineering, and production teams regarding quality standards and requirements.
Coordinate with clients and stakeholders for inspection activities and ensure transparency on quality matters.
Train and mentor junior inspectors and other staff on quality practices and inspection techniques.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance/control for tank fabrication or a similar field.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as API 653, AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), or ASNT Level II/III in NDT methods are highly preferred.
