One of our esteemed clients, a leading player in the frozen meat industry, is seeking an experienced Purchase Manager to join their team. This role is pivotal in developing, leading, and executing effective purchasing strategies while fostering long-term vendor partnerships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted stock availability for the sales team through strategic procurement and optimized working capital management, all while aligning with the Group’s Core Values.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and optimize procurement activities and processes.

Negotiate competitive deals with both international and local suppliers.

Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; evaluate vendors on quality, pricing, timelines, and service.

Schedule and track deliveries, ensuring timely order fulfillment.

Collaborate with Sales and Inventory Control teams to anticipate and meet inventory needs.

Ensure all purchased commodities meet defined quality and specification standards.

Prepare accurate cost estimates and manage budgets effectively.

Continuously improve purchasing systems, tools, and workflows.

Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization.

Coordinate seamlessly with Procurement, Sales & Marketing, Logistics, and Warehousing functions.

Ensure maintenance of the cold chain from source to warehouse delivery.

Required Knowledge & Expertise

Deep understanding of the company’s product portfolio and brand strengths.

Solid grasp of commodity pricing, market trends, and the impact of economic policies on vendor operations.

Comprehensive industry knowledge, including competitive landscape.

Strong business, financial, and techno-commercial acumen.

Alignment with the company’s strategic goals and core values.

Experience with CAPEX analysis and providing informed recommendations.

Proven commercial expertise within the frozen foods or FMCG industry.

Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
