Purchasing, supplier follow-up, cost control and on-time delivery

Main Purpose

To manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing and ensure all required items are purchased on time, in the correct quantity and quality, and at the best possible price. The Purchaser is responsible for following each purchase from the initial request until the goods are received.

Key Responsibilities

· Receive approved purchase requests from departments and the warehouse.

· Check required quantities and confirm the need before purchasing.

· Find suitable suppliers and obtain quotations when required.

· Negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery terms with suppliers.

· Compare supplier pricing and ensure competitive purchasing costs.

· Prepare and place Purchase Orders (POs) after the required approval.

· Follow up continuously with suppliers until the goods are delivered.

· Coordinate delivery timing with the warehouse and operations team.

· Ensure there are no avoidable stock-outs or operational delays caused by purchasing.

· Confirm delivered items match the PO in quantity, specification and agreed price.

· Immediately report shortages, delays, price increases or supplier issues.

· Maintain updated supplier information and purchasing records.

· Continuously search for alternative suppliers and better commercial terms.

· Control purchasing within approved limits and avoid unnecessary purchases.

· Provide a weekly purchasing report covering pending orders, completed deliveries, delays, price changes and savings.Standard Purchasing Process

Internal Control

Major purchases and new supplier approvals must follow management approval. The warehouse/receiving team should independently verify the physical goods received against the PO.

· Purchases completed on time.

· No avoidable stock-outs caused by purchasing delays.

· Competitive prices and documented cost savings.

· Correct quantities and specifications ordered.

· Reliable supplier performance and timely follow-up.

· Accurate and complete purchasing records.

Pay: QAR3,500.00 per month
