Job Description: Business Development Director (IT Focused)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Business Development Director with a strong background in IT to lead and drive growth strategies across our organization. This leadership role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in business development, IT solutions, strategic partnerships, and market expansion. The Business Development Director will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities within the IT sector, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and leading efforts to increase revenue, profitability, and market share in the technology industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
Develop and execute IT-focused business development strategies to align with company goals.
Identify and assess new markets, customer segments, and revenue opportunities within the IT sector.
Lead market research and competitor analysis to refine IT business strategies.
Oversee the development of IT business plans and go-to-market strategies for new technology products and services.
Partnerships & Relationships:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential IT partners, clients, and key industry stakeholders.
Negotiate high-level contracts and partnerships, particularly in IT services, software, and hardware.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, with a focus on the IT sector.
Sales Leadership:
Lead sales teams in the acquisition of new clients, markets, and revenue streams related to IT solutions and services.
Set clear sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) within the IT domain.
Monitor sales performance and ensure alignment with company objectives.
Revenue Growth:
Drive initiatives to achieve revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new IT business opportunities.
Develop pricing models and proposals tailored to the needs of IT clients.
Collaborate with IT, marketing, finance, and product teams to ensure that IT offerings are competitive and appealing to target markets.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the business development team, with a focus on the IT sector.
Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and innovation within the IT sales and business development teams.
Provide coaching and support to team members to improve performance and achieve goals in the IT space.
Reporting & Analysis:
Regularly report on business development activities, progress, and results to senior management, focusing on IT growth metrics.
Analyze trends, sales data, and performance metrics to adjust IT business strategies as necessary.
Brand Representation:
Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring the company’s IT solutions and services are effectively communicated to external partners and clients.
Assist in the development of marketing and communication strategies to strengthen the company’s brand presence in the IT market.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of experience in business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in IT or technology-focused companies.
Proven track record of successfully identifying and securing new IT business opportunities.
Strong understanding of IT solutions, services, software, and hardware.
Experience in leading cross-functional teams within the IT sector and driving results.
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced IT environment.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in CRM software, business development tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
