Job Summary:
The Carpenter Head is responsible for overseeing all carpentry operations, ensuring high-quality workmanship, safety compliance, and project deadlines are met. This role involves leading a team of carpenters, coordinating projects, and collaborating with other trades to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of carpenters, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and productivity.
Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers and architects to review project plans and specifications, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
Quality Control: Ensure all carpentry work meets industry standards and project specifications. Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality assurance.
Scheduling: Develop and manage project timelines, allocating resources effectively to meet deadlines.
Safety Compliance: Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety regulations and best practices. Conduct safety meetings and training sessions.
Material Management: Oversee the procurement and management of materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise during the project, including troubleshooting design challenges or conflicts with other trades.
Communication: Maintain clear communication with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, material usage, and labor costs.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training in carpentry or construction management is a plus.
