Position: Project Engineering Manager (EPC, Process Treatment Systems, Mechanical, Projects)
Job Summary
Provides consultation to Mechanical Engineering, E&I Engineering, Process Engineering, and other functional areas to ensure all assignments are completed in accordance with prescribed objectives, procedures, and budget/schedule constraints. Leads and manages engineering projects from conception to completion. Develops detailed project engineering plans, including scope and schedule. Maintains relationships with project, engineering, controls, procurement, construction, and QA/QC department managers, as well as external stakeholders, engineering sub‑contractors and customers.
Manages resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering matters with the client and subcontractors.
- Establish design engineering procedures.
- Participate in weekly project meetings with client.
- Review and approve engineering documents such as drawings, specifications and requisitions.
- Plan and direct receiving, distribution, and filing of drawings and specifications through the Document Controller.
- Report change/supplemental work related to engineering to the Control Group and prepare a description of change proposal.
- Proactively work to continuously improve the company and its operations through Lean initiatives.
- Attend design, drawing and model reviews.
- Conduct budget analysis, resource deployment and resource management.
- Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Develop tasks related to procurement support, documentation, reporting, etc.
- Provide training and experience transfer to less experienced engineering personnel.
- Coordinate Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) for specific projects.
- Critically analyze client comments and advise the project team on potential extra‑contractual requirements or scope variations.
- Serve as the technical point of contact during project execution.
- Maintain constant contact with Procurement before and during the assignment of critical orders.
Reporting and Communication
- Report to the Engineering Director.
- Report any non‑compliance with HSEQ requirements.
- Interact with Project Managers regarding technical and project‑related challenges.

- Deliver work of high quality and suggest improvements where needed.
- Participate in the evaluation of working methods and conditions to minimize risks for workplace and environmental incidents and quality issues.
- Ensure processes comply with internal and external requirements, are defined and documented, and are continually measured, evaluated, improved, and secured.
- Be proactive in managing schedules and meeting tight deadlines.
Experience / Education / Skill‑Set Required
- Engineering degree (Bachelor’s or postgraduate) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.
- More than 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Broad experience in oil & gas brownfield and greenfield facilities with EPC contractors.
- Experience managing third parties.
- Exposure to process technology.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate within a multinational environment.
- High level management and coordination skills for engineering, client, vendor, and internal departments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across multiple disciplines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering design methods, procedures, and codes/standards.
- Awareness of commercial, cost, schedule, and contract aspects.
- Ability to influence and motivate others for continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to influence and mentor others in safety principles and behaviors.
- Technical experience in Mechanical / Static Equipment Engineering is a plus.
- Experience with equipment handled in CS, LTCS, SS, CS+Clad, LAS, HAS, NACE MR0175, HIC, and other materials across temperature ranges including hot service, cryogenic, hydrogen, wet sour, cyclic, and sea water applications.
- Experience with standardization of design procedures, checklists, and design guidelines.
- Ability to spend 10–20% of time abroad during engineering and construction follow‑up phases for critical projects.
