The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, documenting, and executing engineering projects from conception through completion. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, managing resources, controlling documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and resolving technical issues. The Project Engineer is expected to deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget while meeting quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager or their delegate in developing project scopes, objectives, and engineering deliverables, including presentations.
Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and project timelines.
Work closely with the Project Manager to develop detailed work plans, schedules, and budgets.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
Attend and facilitate site activities by interfacing with subcontractors and engineers.
Monitor, manage, and report on site activities.
Assist the Interface Manager in the submission and approval of permits.
Assist the Planner in planning and scheduling.
Assist the Project Manager in preparing and updating status reports, risks, and issues for the project owner, stakeholders, and senior management.
Coordinate with all departments and external vendors to meet project milestones and ensure execution within contractual parameters.
Monitor and manage project risks and issues, escalating as necessary.
Prepare documentation and manage risks and issues.
Facilitate meetings with stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are met.
Coordinate activities of project teams through task delegation, resource assignment, and program management.
Review vendor and subcontractor quotations for technical compliance and budget considerations.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications and
Certifications:
Degree in Engineering, Software, or a related field.
Project Management degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.
Candidates should have experience in at least one software development project lifecycle.
Relevant project management certifications are a plus.
Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
Required Experience:
Experience in developing project scopes, objectives, and engineering deliverables.
Experience in preparing technical documentation, specifications, and project timelines.
Experience with submission workflows, including claims and documentation with customers.
Understanding of project life cycles (e.g., EPC, Waterfall, Agile).
Experience in setting up a Project Management Repository.
Proficiency in planning and scheduling using MS Project and Primavera, including creating project S-Curves.
Experience in managing project risks and issues.
Experience in controlling project costs and budgets.
