Job Title:
Procurement Engineer
Job Summary:
A Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for engineering and construction projects. They work closely with suppliers, project managers, and technical teams to ensure cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality, delivery schedules, and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, vendors, and contractors
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and purchase orders
- Analyze technical specifications and project requirements
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers
- Ensure materials and equipment meet quality and engineering standards
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and project teams
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement issues
- Track inventory levels and procurement schedules
- Conduct cost analysis and budgeting for procurement activities
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Maintain procurement records and documentation
- Support project planning and risk management activities
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, or Facilities Management
- Knowledge of engineering materials, equipment, and technical specifications
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of contract management and vendor relations
