ROLE: PROJECT ENGINEER – FIRE AND SAFETY

ROLE DESCRIPTION
This is a full-time role as a Project Engineer in the Fire and Safety field, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As a Project Engineer, you will oversee the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire safety systems. You will be responsible for managing fire protection projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining timelines and budgets. You will also liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure the successful execution of all projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management: Oversee the execution of fire safety projects, including designing fire protection systems, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards (e.g., NFPA, ADCD).
Design & Installation: Collaborate with design teams to create fire alarm, fire suppression, and sprinkler system designs. Oversee the installation of fire protection equipment, including fire pumps, sprinklers, fire alarms, and extinguishers.
Coordination & Supervision: Lead project teams and ensure the smooth coordination between contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
Inspections & Testing: Perform inspections and testing of installed systems to verify performance and compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with fire protection equipment during installation and post-installation phases.
Maintenance Oversight: Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of fire protection systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet safety requirements.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, budgets, progress reports, and quality assurance documents. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Client Liaison: Work closely with clients, providing technical advice, project updates, and addressing any concerns or issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Budget Management: Ensure all projects are completed within the allocated budget, including monitoring expenses and resource allocation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Previous experience as a Project Engineer in the fire and safety field (5+ years).
Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, fire pumps, sprinkler systems, and fire suppression systems.
Familiarity with local and international fire safety codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NFPA, ADCD).
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in the use of project management software and MS Office.
Valid certifications in fire safety systems or related fields (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly preferred.
UAE Driver’s license preferred.
Must have a proactive approach to safety and quality standards.
