About the role
Our client, a leading engineering consultancy based in Qatar, is seeking an experienced Project Director – Fit-Out to oversee the full delivery cycle of high-end interior fit-out projects. The successful candidate will be based in Doha and must currently hold a valid Qatar residency. This is a senior leadership role with direct accountability to executive management and key client stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project delivery across high-value fit-out schemes – commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, and luxury residential
- Define project governance frameworks: scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality baselines
- Act as primary interface between client, design consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities
- Manage and mentor multi-disciplinary project teams (PMs, site managers, engineers, coordinators)
- Drive value engineering initiatives while maintaining design intent and client expectations
- Ensure compliance with Qatar construction codes, authorities, and QCDD requirements
- Report project performance through KPIs, dashboards, and executive steering committees
- Oversee procurement, vendor selection, and contract administration (FIDIC / bespoke)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred)
- 20+ years of progressive project management experience – with at least 5 years in a Director / Programme Director capacity
- Demonstrable fit-out project experience in Qatar or the GCC region (retail, hospitality, F&B, corporate interiors)
- Strong commercial acumen – P&L awareness, contract negotiation, and cost control
- Familiarity with Qatar regulatory and Ashghal / MMUP approval processes
- Proficiency in project controls tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent)
- PMP, MRICS, or CIOB certification is an advantage
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Currently residing in Qatar with a transferable visa / NOC
