Job Summary

The Project Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale construction and infrastructure projects while ensuring profitability, operational excellence, and client satisfaction. The role oversees all project functions, including engineering, construction, planning, procurement, commercial, contracts, finance, QA/QC, HSE, and project controls, ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, approved schedules, budgets, quality standards, and company objectives. The Project Director provides executive leadership to multidisciplinary teams, manages key stakeholder relationships, drives commercial performance, and ensures effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

·      Lead and manage all phases of project execution from project award through mobilization, construction, commissioning, and final handover.

·      Provide strategic leadership and direction to Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineering, Planning, Procurement, Commercial, Contracts, QA/QC, HSE, Finance, and Project Controls teams to ensure successful project delivery.

·      Develop and implement project execution strategies, business plans, resource allocation plans, and operational objectives aligned with company goals and contractual commitments.

·      Support the implementation, development, and continuous improvement of company systems, policies, and procedures for effective financial, commercial, and operational management.

·      Lead project teams to achieve approved schedules, productivity targets, quality objectives, and financial performance while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

·      Manage overall project budgets, cost control, cash flow, forecasting, profitability, and financial performance to ensure maximum commercial success.

·      Ensure accurate and timely preparation of project financial reports, cost reports, revenue forecasts, progress reports, and executive management updates.

·      Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for project teams and ensure continuous performance improvement across all project functions.

·      Monitor project performance against approved schedules, budgets, contractual milestones, quality objectives, and HSE requirements while implementing corrective actions when necessary.

·      Ensure full compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, client requirements, Saudi regulations, international standards, and project governance requirements.

·      Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Commercial, Planning, Contracts, QA/QC, HSE, Logistics, and Project Controls, to achieve project objectives.

·      Review and approve project schedules, procurement strategies, construction methodologies, commercial reports, technical submissions, recovery plans, and key project deliverables.

·      Provide leadership in contract administration, claims management, variation management, Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, dispute resolution, and commercial negotiations.

·      Develop procurement and subcontracting strategies while overseeing supplier and subcontractor performance to ensure project success.

·      Maintain strong relationships with Clients, Consultants, Government Authorities, Developers, Subcontractors, and key stakeholders while representing the Company in executive meetings and commercial negotiations.

·      Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while ensuring effective risk management strategies and timely resolution of critical project issues.

·      Promote and enforce compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards across all project activities.

·      Lead executive project meetings, client progress reviews, commercial meetings, and management reporting sessions while providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

·      Ensure the Company's reputation, professional image, and business interests are maintained through effective stakeholder engagement and successful project delivery.

·      Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, commercial performance, and project management practices across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

·      Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related engineering discipline.

·      Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline is considered an advantage.

·      Professional certification such as PMP, PgMP, PMI-RMP, or equivalent is preferred.

·      Minimum 18 years of experience in the construction industry, including extensive experience leading large-scale, complex, mega, or giga construction and infrastructure projects.

·      Previous experience with leading main contractors delivering high-rise, mixed-use, hospitality, infrastructure, industrial, or government projects within Saudi Arabia or the GCC is highly preferred.

·      Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, construction management, project controls, commercial management, contract administration, and corporate governance.

·      Extensive experience with FIDIC contracts, claims management, Extension of Time (EOT), risk management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.

·      Strong understanding of Saudi Building Codes, local authority regulations, Vision 2030 developments, and international construction standards.

·      Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications, and project management software.
