Production Manager – Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage daily production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with food safety regulations.
Develop and implement production plans to meet demand while optimizing resources and minimizing waste.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, and other food safety standards.
Lead and supervise production teams, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to enhance team performance.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance team to maintain product quality and safety.
Ensure proper maintenance of production equipment and coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive maintenance.
Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and consistency in production processes.
Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to optimize material flow and reduce costs.
Investigate and resolve production-related issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Prepare and analyse production reports, presenting insights to senior management for data-driven decision-making.
Determine product costs by calculating ingredient quantities and evaluating raw material prices to establish total recipe costs.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for data analysis and reporting.
Solid background in Food Safety Management Systems (HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000).
Experience in product costing, including recipe formulation and raw material cost calculation.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle) for production planning and inventory management.
Educational Background & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree: Engineering, Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Experience in a production or operations management role within the food manufacturing industry.
