JOB PURPOSE
The Production Foreman for fireproofing and soundproofing products is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production workers engaged in the manufacturing of specialized construction materials. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of fireproofing products such as AVIKOTE and MONOKOTE, as well as soundproofing products such as SONOTEX and SONOPHONE. The Production Foreman plays a critical role in leading and directing the production team, implementing best practices, and ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
This position is essential for maintaining a smooth and productive production process while meeting customer specifications and industry standards.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY RESULT AREA
1 Supervising production activities:
Overseeing and coordinating the activities of production workers engaged in the manufacturing of fireproofing and soundproofing products.
2 Ensuring safety and compliance:
Enforcing safety regulations and best practices in the production of specialized construction materials and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
3 Quality control and inspection:
Monitoring and maintaining production quality standards, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any quality issues or deviations from standards.
4 Training and development:
Providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to production workers to ensure adherence to production processes and quality requirements.
5 Production scheduling and coordination:
Collaborating with the production supervisor and management to schedule production activities, allocate resources, and ensure timely completion of production targets.
6 Inventory management:
Assisting in managing inventory levels, tracking raw material usage, and reporting inventory needs to support continuous production.
7 Reporting and documentation:
Maintaining production reports, documenting production activities, and assisting in the preparation of performance metrics and KPIs.
QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL COMPETENCES
Formal Education – High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical or vocational training in manufacturing or related fields is a plus.
Work Experience – Proven experience in a production role, preferably in a manufacturing environment related to fireproofing and soundproofing products.
Skills / Knowledge – Knowledge of manufacturing processes for fireproofing and soundproofing products, including material handling, mixing, curing, and packaging.
– Understanding of quality control standards, safety regulations, and best practices in the production of construction materials.
– Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively supervise and coordinate production activities.
– Basic computer skills for data entry, reporting, and communication.
– Familiarity with inventory management and production scheduling.
