Job Objective:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the process of purchasing equipment, services, and materials required by the company in the energy sector. This includes technical equipment such as turbines, transformers, maintenance materials, and specialized consulting and engineering services. The role requires strong negotiation skills with suppliers and ensuring that all procurement meets the required technical, financial, and contractual standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
Analyze the company’s needs for materials, services, and equipment in energy projects.
Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to potential suppliers.
Evaluate and compare different offers and select the most efficient and cost-effective suppliers.
Price and Terms Negotiation:
Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices and commercial terms.
Prepare procurement contracts and ensure compliance with all legal and contractual terms.
Build long-term professional relationships with suppliers to ensure continuity in obtaining materials and services with the required quality.
Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Track the status of procurement orders and ensure suppliers meet delivery schedules.
Prepare periodic reports for the Procurement Manager on procurement status and project costs.
Compliance with Standards:
Ensure suppliers comply with the environmental, health, and safety standards required for energy projects.
Keep up to date with legal and regulatory developments in the energy sector to ensure full compliance.
Analysis and Planning:
Conduct market analysis and provide advice on procurement strategies.
Contribute to the development of procurement plans that align with the company’s goals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the energy sector.
Strong knowledge of procurement fundamentals, contract management, and negotiation.
Proficiency in using procurement management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
Excellentcommunicationand negotiation skills.
Familiarity with quality and safety standards in the energy industry.
Ability to work under pressure and ensure procurement timelines are met.
