Procurement Engineer – Job Responsibilities

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs to identify procurement requirements.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to approved suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations based on technical compliance, commercial terms, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering, Estimation, and Project teams to ensure procurement requirements are fully understood.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, and contractual conditions with suppliers.
  • Prepare comparison sheets and procurement recommendations for management approval.
  • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor order status until delivery.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are delivered according to project schedules and specifications.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and site teams regarding material deliveries and inspections.
  • Resolve procurement-related issues, including delivery delays, material shortages, and supplier performance concerns.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and documentation.
  • Source new suppliers and evaluate vendor capabilities to improve cost, quality, and reliability.
  • Monitor market trends and material prices to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and project requirements.
  • Support contract administration and coordinate with subcontractors when required.
  • Prepare periodic procurement reports, including procurement status, cost savings, and supplier performance.
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure timely invoice processing and payment coordination.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with health, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture.

Management, or Contract Management are an advantage.

Strong knowledge of architectural materials, interior fit-out systems, and construction specifications.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP procurement systems is preferred.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Procurement Engineer within the construction, architectural fit-out, or interior finishing industry.

Proven experience in sourcing and procuring architectural and fit-out materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and specialized subcontractor packages.

Strong understanding of architectural drawings, material specifications, BOQs, and project requirements.

Experience in supplier evaluation, commercial negotiations, and procurement planning.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.

Ability to manage multiple procurement activities while meeting project schedules and budget requirements.
