Job Description
Job Overview:
The Principal Document Controller provides solutions to problems that may be atypical or infrequently occurring based on practice and existing precedents or procedures. The work of the Principal Document Controller directly impacts the quality of the team’s work. They can communicate technical document control information to the team and suggest improvements to existing processes.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Gain experience in the work area: iDocs.
Develop basic technical skills to complete assigned work.
When acting as Lead Document Management, in addition:
Lead small or medium Document Management Teams.
Manage projects as Lead Document Controller, engaging other disciplines.
Coordinate activities within own discipline and with other disciplines.
Lead the Document Management team to deliver work on schedule and within budget, adhering to standards and procedures.
Plan, organize, and oversee discipline execution, including scope, deliverables, schedule, and workforce resources.
Ensure clear interfaces and deliverables are identified.
Monitor progress and productivity, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Act as the discipline point of contact with the Project Team, Client, Vendors, and authorities.
Develop document management plans and work instructions aligned with client and company standards.
Familiarize with technical aspects of the Contract and Project requirements related to document management.
Ensure the EDMS platform meets technical requirements.
Manage staffing and budgets for projects.
Advise Project Management on document management issues.
Facilitate sharing of documentation across the project team and partners.
Interface with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors on document management issues.
Ensure timely flow of technical information via EDMS.
Prepare and review project reports on document status.
Supervise document management personnel and provide performance feedback.
Ensure proper training on EDMS and document procedures.
Improve document management processes and tools.
Participate in audits and provide status reports.
Engage with MOPEX counterparts.
Manage project record handover and archiving.
Share lessons learned from projects.

Project Lead Document Mgmt./PEM or PM, and Department Manager

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent diploma (preferably in Computer Science).
10-15 years of Document Management experience with a major contractor or consultant.
Knowledge of EDMS software, MS Office, and Adobe.
Proficiency in Microsoft programs:
Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Project.
Experience with industry EDMS tools.
Experience in technical activities for onshore and offshore operations.
Leadership and industry expertise.
Teamwork and leadership skills.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Detail-oriented and dependable.
Certified iDocs Trainer (preferred).
