Principal Maritime Engineer – Abu Dhabi, UAE
Job Purpose:
The principal function of this role is to undertake the role of Principal Engineer / Project Manager on maritime engineering projects. Exhibiting strong technical skills and team participation to help drive projects toward successful completion.
Job Responsibilities
/Accountabilities:
The key priorities in this role will include but not be limited to:
Maintaining and building client relationships
Working with clients to define engineering requirements
Advising clients on project selection/optioneering
Leading maritime/civil/coastal engineering design
Project management
Reviewing and approving design calculations, drawings and specifications
Technical report writing, review and approval
Proposal preparation
Basic Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for this position include:
Professional Engineer e.g. Chartered Engineer with the ICE
Relevant degree in Civil, Marine, Coastal or Ocean Engineering
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate most of the following technical experience:
Technical maritime/civil/coastal engineering knowledge
Design experience of breakwaters, quay walls, jetties, dredging and reclamation and other maritime structures
Performing engineering calculations, preparing design drawings
Maritime civil engineering for industrial / oil-industry development
Waterfront development master plans, beach and edge protection design
Familiar with coastal numerical modelling
And have the following skills and knowledge:
Management of projects and multi-disciplined design teams
Confident in communication with good presentation skills
Client focus
Effective team player
Commitment and motivation
Personal planning and organisation
Commercial acumen
