Role Overview

In this role, the Powerplant Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

Engine configuration management, validation/verification of any part substitutions.

Focus on changes in router structure.

Routers management for new capabilities and workscopes.

Ensure all incoming documentation is verified and available for an engine shop visit.

Manage technical questions regarding the engine, work scope, tooling, consumables, configuration, and capability.

Work to determine and recommend alternate solutions.

Determine and recommend corrective actions for departure records to prevent future occurrences.

Clarify manual and repair requirements.

Support change of equipment notifications approval (SAP Function).

Collaborate with the planning team for shop repairs (Y1) and field jobs (Y3).

Interact with technicians on general inquiries.

Submit departure records for any defects found during maintenance.

In addition, the On-Wing Support Powerplant Engineer will:

Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to ensure the engine meets or exceeds all requirements.

Work closely with the Global Engineering team on OWS standardization across all global sites.

Be willing to voice opinions even if they go against current practices.

Show creativity in seeking solutions.

Required Qualifications

Degree in relevant Aviation Engineering desired but not essential.

Minimum of 5 years of experience with engine maintenance in a Part 145 environment.

Availability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Willingness to support calls during off-hours in emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.

Act with humility, transparency, and a willingness to learn.

Desire to learn and adapt to technological advancements and new engine models.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including problem-solving.

Experience with LEAP, GE90, CFM, CF6, and GENX engines, and international field experience is a plus.

Proven skills in quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Understanding of Human Factor limitations.
