Post Doctoral Fellow – Computer Science, Secure Machine Learning
Khalifa University of Science and Technology, a UAE federal government research university based in Abu Dhabi, seeks a Post Doctoral Fellow in Computer Science for a three-year funded research initiative focused on secure and privacy-preserving machine learning in decentralized networks.
Research Focus
The research project explores advanced cryptographic techniques – including homomorphic encryption, secure multi-party computation (SMPC), and differential privacy – and their integration to enable secure machine learning systems in distributed network environments. Applications span healthcare data analysis, financial systems, and distributed artificial intelligence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on research including software development, systematic literature reviews, and exploration of new research directions within the project domain
- Assist with development of funding proposals to expand the research programme
- Mentor PhD and Master’s students within the research group
- Coordinate research engineers’ work on project activities
- Participate in research centre activities and conference organization
- Present research findings in written manuscripts and oral presentations
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science or related field
- Strong background in computer science fundamentals
- Demonstrated proficiency in programming
- Hands-on experience with both machine learning and blockchain or decentralized systems technologies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for research dissemination
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate research team members
