The Role
We are seeking a Policy Analyst – Latin America to monitor, analyze, and report on political, economic, and regulatory developments across the region. You will track legislative trends, executive actions, and regulatory shifts in key Latin American markets, translating them into clear, decision-ready intelligence for internal teams and external clients.
This role demands a strong understanding of the region’s diverse institutional contexts, political risk factors, and policy priorities—from trade and energy to social policy and digital regulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor & Analyze: Track policy and regulatory changes in priority Latin American countries (e.g., Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile), identifying risks and opportunities for the organization.
- Produce Written Outputs: Draft policy briefs, country risk assessments, quarterly outlook reports, and ad-hoc memos for both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- Forecast Impact: Assess the implications of political events and policy decisions on business operations, investment climates, and regional stability.
- Data & Research: Apply qualitative and quantitative research methods, drawing on official government sources, multilateral databases (e.g., ECLAC, IDB), and local media monitoring.
- Develop Predictive Scenarios: Construct forward-looking policy scenarios based on electoral cycles, legislative calendars, and socio-economic trends to help anticipate regulatory shifts before they materialize.
- Synthesize Cross-Country Comparisons: Produce comparative analyses across multiple Latin American jurisdictions, identifying regional patterns, policy diffusion, and divergent approaches to shared challenges (e.g., fiscal policy, resource governance, digital regulation).
