Plumbing Project Engineer
- Title: Plumbing Project Engineer / MEP Project Engineer (Plumbing)
- Reports to: MEP Project Manager / Senior MEP Engineer
- Location: Site + office (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, GCC projects)
- Core systems knowledge: cold/hot water supply, drainage & sewage, storm water, irrigation, LPG/gas, fire plumbing interfaces, pump rooms.
Key responsibilities
Technical
- Assume duties of project plumbing engineer/designer on assigned projects
- Prepare shop drawings, schematic & details basis of design narratives
- Perform engineering calculations (pipe sizing, pump head, flow rates, pressure loss)
- Review and interpret plumbing drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications
- Develop and rationalise consultant designs to provide cost-effective solutions, develop shop drawings
Project delivery
- Technical coordination of assigned projects with PM, architects, and vendors 
- Ensure clear communication among project team, clients, architects, and vendors 
- Contribute to estimating, scheduling, and design-build process; perform take-offs, obtain quotes, compile bid estimates
- Manage job progress, interpret technical plans and specifications
- Oversee purchasing and delivery, and financial management of the project
- Write proposals, memos, subcontracts, change orders
Site execution (UAE specific)
- Supervise and inspect site plumbing works to ensure compliance with design and standards
- Prepare material submittals, method statements, shop drawings
- Coordinate plumbing with civil, HVAC, electrical to avoid clashes
- Conduct pressure testing, flushing, system leak checks
- Ensure compliance with UAE building codes and authorities (DEWA, DDA, Dubai Municipality, Civil Défense)
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, and local authorities for approvals and inspections
- Conduct site inspections, resolve technical issues promptly, and advise supervisors on corrective measures
- Perform construction administration: shop drawing review, RFIs, construction bulletins, site observations
- Prepare daily progress reports, maintain inspection logs
- Support commissioning, testing, and final handover
Coordination & leadership
- Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
- Coordinate and delegate work to BIM technicians/CAD team
- Attend design meetings and communicate plumbing design to clients
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers
Requirements
Education & experience
- Bachelors in mechanical (Diploma accepted for site Engineer roles);
- 3–5 years UAE/GCC experience in plumbing systems for building projects (mid-level); 5+ years preferred for project engineer roles
- For high-rise/complex projects: 8–15 years with proven UAE high-rise experience
Technical skills
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, piping standards, IPC, UPC, BS, and UAE local
Pay: AED8,000.00 – AED10,000.00 per month
