What This Role Is All About
Our Play Facilitators better known as IMAGINATORS are responsible for fulfilling Hoppi’s vision of creating awesome experiences and memories for children. Working within exhibit zones, Imaginators act as Hoppi’s brand ambassadors with the primary objective of engaging with all visitors in an empathetic, thoughtful, and joyful manner.
Visitor Experience and Service
- Be an ambassador for the Hoppi brand, ensuring every visitor’s experience meets or exceeds expectations with inclusive, culturally appropriate, positive, and memorable interactions in a friendly and sincere approach.
- Provide friendly courteous communication by orienting visitors to the building and informing them of the exhibits, areas, and programs.
- Contribute to a positive team‑based, visitor‑first centric culture.
- Wear the mascot costume on special occasions.
- Manage groups of children from schools, birthday parties, or camp activities.
- Lead themed birthday parties for kids and wear costumes that match the themes.
- Collect and communicate visitor feedback and suggestions.
- Follow and perform daily opening/closing protocols and procedures, including routine cleaning, restocking, and preparation of program materials.
Exhibits Area
- Have an honest and comprehensive understanding of Hoppi’s philosophy and developmental pedagogical and learning objectives.
- Participate in training programs designed to enhance interaction with visitors in the Hoppi manner.
- Lead field trips and interact with teachers and students in an age‑level appropriate manner.
- Work as a team to ensure that the entire building and each gallery corner within the premises is highly presentable, clean, tidy, with supplies in proper place, well‑organized, and properly maintained.
Safety & Security
- Provide a safe environment for all visitors, specifically children.
- Assist visitors in case of an incident or emergency.
- Take ownership of the safety of the facility and report and follow up on any repairs or changes needed.
- Attend training and perform emergency procedures including fire evacuation, accident reporting, etc. during Hoppi’s hours of operation.
Qualifications
- Able to work weekends and public holidays.
- Advanced coursework or experience in customer service, family learning, or retail operations preferred.
- Experience working with young children aged 1‑10 and their families in recreational settings, after‑school programs, or classroom is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact positively with children, adults, and large groups.
- Proficiency in English is a must. Proficiency in other languages (Arabic, Russian, Chinese, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
- Ability to work with diverse staff and visitors.
- Self‑starter and self‑motivated, thrives working in a team‑oriented and collaborative environment.
- Lots of bright and positive energy, respectful of diversity, patient and empathetic, friendly, courteous.
- Interest and enthusiasm for working with children and families.
- Adaptable to perform a variety of duties.
