We are hiring a Hands-on Platform Architect (Tech Lead) for one of the Big 4 for a project based in Riyadh.
The person will own the technical architecture and engineering governance across the shared services layer and BFF layer, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, reliable, and aligned with the target platform direction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead architecture and technical direction for shared platform services, including payments, communications, booking, digital identity, and AI-enabled platform capabilities.
- Govern and improve the BFF layer across mobile and digital channels.
- Act as the hands-on technical authority across platform engineering streams.
- Review and approve technical solutions, designs, integrations, and implementation approaches.
- Design payment orchestration and booking orchestration patterns and integration strategies.
- Define AI architecture patterns, integration standards, and governance for AI-enabled services and workflows.
- Support adoption of AI capabilities across the platform, including automation, copilots, orchestration, and intelligent customer experiences.
- Define and maintain the target-state architecture and platform modernization roadmap.
- Identify architecture gaps, scalability risks, technical debt, and platform improvement opportunities.
- Plan and drive architecture improvements and platform engineering initiatives.
- Define resiliency standards and governance across services, including failover strategies, retries, circuit breakers, graceful degradation, redundancy, and recovery patterns.
- Define observability standards across the platform, including telemetry, logging, tracing, dashboards, SLIs/SLOs, metrics, and alerting requirements.
- Govern implementation of monitoring dashboards and operational visibility across all platform domains and critical services.
- Ensure meaningful operational metrics and proactive alerting are implemented to support reliability, incident management, and platform health monitoring.
- Establish architecture governance processes, technical standards, engineering best practices, and design review processes.
- Work hands-on with engineering teams on architecture, API design, integrations, data flows, troubleshooting, and complex technical challenges.
- Support engineering teams in delivery execution, technical decision-making, and resolving blockers.
- Ensure platform consistency, reusability, security, performance, observability, and operational excellence across all services and domains.
- Arabic and English Language required
Terms:
- 6-month extendable contract
- 100% onsite – Riyadh
- Candidates must already be based in KSA with valid residency/iqama
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Contract
Pay: ﷼40,000.00 – ﷼48,000.00 per month
